China has expanded its 240-hour visa-free transit policy to citizens of 57 countries, following the addition of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam in August 2026.
Eligible travelers may enter through 65 designated ports across 24 provincial-level regions and remain within the permitted areas for up to 240 hours, provided they hold an ordinary passport and a confirmed onward ticket to a third country or region.

Although this policy is not specifically designed for medical travel, easier access may offer greater flexibility to eligible international travelers considering time-limited healthcare services in China, such as health assessments, specialist consultations, or second opinions.
